VILLA CONCHI CAVA BRUT RESERVA NV, SPAIN

We look forward to welcoming our guests with a glass of this delicious Cava. With more depth, character and interest than most Proseccos, we believe it’s time for a Cava revival. Produced from a classic blend of Xarello, Parellada and Macabeo, topped up with 10 er cent Chardonnay, it’s a classically made sparkler, with rich notes of baked apples, and toasted hazelnuts. Lovely , lively citrus-edged flavours mingle with a delicious , biscuit richness and depth.

BAY OF FIRES RIESLING 2014, TASMANIA

Riesling is the perfect match for the clean, yet intense, smokey flavours of the delicate starter, enhanced by the rich earthiness of red cabbage. Riesling, with its exotic, lime juice and honeysuckle-seared aromas is perfect. This delightful wine, from the cool climate of Tasmania, is delightful in its lively, vibrant grace – packed full of vibrant, lively character, it has just the right depth of ripeness to cope with the mackerel, and ends on a gloriously high note of crisp acidity and minerality. Winner of coveted silver medals at the International Wine Challenge and Sommelier Wine Awards competition, this is a worthy wine to show at our awards night.

RED KNOT GRENACHE SHIRAZ MOURVEDRE 2014, MCLAREN VALE, AUSTRALIA

The rich, autumnal flavours of the venison, onion and mushroom call for a similarly bold red. This award-winning delight from Australia hits the spot, with its ripe, velvety, blackberry-stashed flavours. Bursting with warm spice, dark chocolate and bright berry fruit aromas, this Grenache-dominant red has delightfully smooth, yet deep layers of flavours, which bring out the warmth of the dish.
